Monday, July 27- Summer Rhyming

  1. Cut the pictures out
  2. Write your name on the sheet
  3. Find the pictures that rhymes with the first picture on your sheet
  4. Glue the rhyming word into the box next to each picture

Tuesday,  July 28- Patterns

  1. Write your name on the back of the sentence strip and turn it over so that you can see the pattern unit (the pattern unit is the set of pictures already glued to your paper)
  2. Spread out your extra pictures so that you can see what you have
  3. Identify the pattern unit 
  4. Say each picture as you touch it and see what comes next to keep your pattern going
  5. Glue on the pictures to complete the pattern to the end of your sentence strip
  6. Color your pictures when you are finished

Wednesday, July 29- Octopus Plates

  1. Color the blank side of the paper plate (the side with nothing on it) 
  2. Draw a face for your octopus
  3. Flip your plate over to the dotted side and write your name in the middle of the plate
  4. Mom or Dad can carefully tear the green paper off and separate your colored octopus legs so you can see the numbered stickers on each one
  5. Count the number of black dots in one of the sections
  6. Find the leg with the number that matches that many dots and glue it over the dots with the rest of the leg on the outside of the plate
  7. Do each section until you have attached all 8 legs to your octopus

Thursday,  July 30- Seahorse Letter Matching

  1. Write your name on the back of your seahorse bubble paper
  2. Pick a bubble with a letter in it
  3. Identify the letter and find the same letter on your sticker sheet
  4. Put the sticker over the bubble with the same letter inside
  5. Do all of your stickers

Try & Guess What’s Inside!


Hide an item inside a bag
Use the question board to prompt questions to try to guess what’s inside!

Ocean Slime
Here is a simple recipe to make it at home!
½ cup clear liquid glue
¼ cup liquid starch 
½ cup water
Food coloring (a few drops until you get the desired color)
Glitter 
Optional: add small shells or small plastic ocean animals to your slime when it is mixed!

Sidewalk Chalk Obstacle Course/ Spelling Game

Using sidewalk chalk, draw an obstacle course for your child to go through. Some things you can include are: walk on the line- straight/ zigzag/ curvy, run, bear crawl, bunny hop, tip toe, spin, jump, squat, frog jump etc.  Older students may enjoy drawing all of the letters of the alphabet and using their feet to help spell out some ocean animals/words with you..
